The Mechanical Technician reports to the Plant Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the plant to meet corporate requirements of safety, reliability, efficiency, and productivity. This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.

Essential Job Functions (Includes but not limited to):
Focuses on safety and abides by all company safety requirements as posted and associated with the performance of the job.
Ensures that all work performed meets required codes (Osha, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Works in a manner that supports the efforts of all plant personnel and which meet company productivity goals.
Assists in the design and execution of the “Preventative Maintenance Program” to ensure that plant machinery is properly maintained.
Maintains all maintenance records and develops a “Performance Improvement Plan” to prevent repetitive incidences.
Record keeping of all maintenance performed and development of a “Maintenance Schedule.”
Assists with general fabrication and special projects as required by subcontractors and engineers.
Collaborates with subcontractors to assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment as required for plant improvement and growth.
Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
Responsible for maintaining all company equipment to ensure operation in a safe, reliable and productive manner.
Assist in maintaining the spare parts inventory to ensure that manufacturing downtime is minimized.
Provides feedback and recommendations to Engineering for facility, equipment, and process improvement.
Maintain proficiency and strive toward continuous improvements in processes and techniques.
Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons when appropriate.
Provide assistance for the Engineers in conducting assembly evaluations and implement improvements as needed.
Essential Job Requirements:
EDUCATION: Vocational certificate or degree
EXPERIENCE: 5 years minimum manufacturing experience. Familiar with and experience in maintenance practice and principles.
Strong Mechanical skills
